the gameplay is relatively simple, yet i enjoyed it quite a bit even though it did feel a bit basic. each character has a few different skills, and when any skill is activated a sequence of actions will be performed which will eventually take them to their destination. for example, if the character attacks a dragon, after a few seconds of shooting and bombing, they'll fly up into the air and eventually fall down on the dragon.
with around four months having passed since dishonored 2 released, you can be sure that bethesda has been thinking about the series' future, and the upcoming sequel is a strong indication that they are prepared to continue the series for a while yet. the success of the original dishonored inspired a wave of post-industrial action games, such as overlord, spelunky, and into the breach, but they all lacked something in comparison with dishonored. the ambitious setting, memorable characters and unique aesthetic of dishonored 2 ensured that the series retained its importance even after the launch of fallout 4, which also benefited from the advent of advances in graphics and gameplay. in the intervening time, the series has produced several different spin-offs, but dishonored 2 was the first to match the original in terms of style and atmosphere, and that was something we hadn't really seen in the previous games.
